Brick, stone, and concrete walls require specialized installation hardware and techniques that most installers don't have. Our Charlotte team carries masonry-rated anchors, diamond-tip drill bits, and the experience to mount any TV size on any masonry surface — interior brick walls, exterior stone fireplaces, exposed concrete in basements, and historic brick homes throughout the Charlotte metro area.
Mounting on masonry is fundamentally different from drywall. There are no studs to anchor into — you're drilling directly into solid material and relying on the anchor itself to hold the TV weight. Get the anchor wrong (wrong size, wrong type, wrong hole depth) and the TV either won't hold OR you crack the masonry. We use four primary anchor types depending on the situation: sleeve anchors (1/4" or 3/8") for solid brick or concrete, epoxy anchors for soft or crumbling brick that needs reinforcement, toggle bolts for hollow concrete block, and Tapcon screws for shallow concrete applications. Each TV size and weight class gets the right anchor — nothing oversized (which damages the brick), nothing undersized (which won't hold). We also drill cleanly with diamond-tip bits to avoid spalling or cracking the masonry surface, and we mortar-match any visible drill holes during patch-up if requested. The result is a permanently mounted TV that won't move or sag — secure for the lifetime of the wall.
Identify the type (brick, stone, concrete, block). Check density and condition. Confirm anchor type needed.
Right anchor for the right material — sleeve anchors, epoxy anchors, toggle bolts, or Tapcons. Sized for TV weight.
Diamond-tip masonry bits for clean holes. Proper depth for full anchor engagement. No cracking or spalling.
Anchors set to torque spec. Mounting plate attached and verified plumb. Secure permanent hold.
TV attached, leveled, all cables routed and tested. Final adjustment for ideal viewing angle.
Standard masonry mount is +$30 over our regular pricing. Basic Mount becomes $129, Pro Conceal becomes $219, Full Cinema becomes $279. The surcharge covers specialized anchors and additional labor time.
Not when done correctly. We use diamond-tip masonry bits and proper anchor types to avoid spalling or cracking. We've done hundreds of masonry mounts without damage. We assess before drilling — if your masonry is unsuitable, we'll tell you and recommend alternatives.
Permanent and secure. Properly installed masonry anchors hold significantly MORE weight than drywall stud mounts. Your TV will not move or sag for the lifetime of the wall.
Mount can be removed cleanly. Anchor holes are usually the diameter of a #10 wood screw or smaller — easily filled with mortar-matched patch if needed.
Limited. Brick and stone walls don't have stud cavities to fish cables through. We route wires down the side of the wall to a recessed plate at the floor, OR use a surface raceway painted to match the wall. Discussed during consultation.
Yes. Outdoor brick mounting uses the same anchor techniques plus weather-rated brackets and UV-resistant cable management. Common request in Charlotte's suburbs with covered brick patios.
